Terry Ellison, 70, of Olney, passed away on Saturday, December 1, 2018 at Good Samaritan Hospital in Vincennes, IN. Terry was born on August 8, 1948 in Olney, IL, the son of Earkles and Virginia (Bemont) Ellison. He married Helen (Plebanek) on May 12, 1988 at Antioch Church in Olney. She survives him.

Terry was a talented musician and songwriter. He enjoyed cooking, fishing, gardening, mushroom hunting, traveling, and he loved animals. He had a contagious smile and could make you laugh.

Terry is survived by his wife, Helen Ellison of Olney; Mother, Virginia Ellison of Olney; Brothers, Bill Ellison and wife Jackie of Olney, and Jay Ellison and wife Cindy of St. Elmo; Sister, Ann Shuck and husband Rick of Olney; and several aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father, brother, Robert G. Ellison, sister-in-law, Jan Ellison, several aunts, uncles, and nephews.

Frederick C. Weiberg, Jr., 80, passed away Friday, October 26, 2018, at Deaconess Gateway Hospital. He was born on May 15, 1938 in Evansville, Indiana, the son of Frederick, Sr. and Florence (Kares) Weiberg.

Fred spent his childhood in Evansville and graduated from Bosse High School in 1956 and attended the University of Evansville. Fred enjoyed a successful career that began in earnest at Springfield Wire in Evansville. It was at Springfield Wire that Fred met his future wife, Ann, whom he was married to from 1970 until his death. Fred’s career nearly took him to the east coast when Springfield Wire moved their Evansville operations to Massachusetts, but he opted to stay in Southern Indiana which he always felt was home and where he belonged.

Fred’s career progressed to Mead Johnson/Bristol Myers-Squibb where he enjoyed a very successful 24-year career before retiring in 2002. Fred was a sports enthusiast and was an avid golfer. He loved the outdoors and nature and spent a great deal of time camping and boating. Fred’s favorite hobby though was spending time with his beloved family. Fred was the ultimate family man and, while he had many hobbies, he was happiest simply being in the presence of his many loved ones. Fred was a devoted Christian and enjoyed his Bible Study fellowship. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Shirley Hall.

Fred is survived by his beloved wife of 48 years, Ann (Williams) Weiberg; daughter, Lisa Eades of Bloomington, IN; son, Christopher Weiberg (Krista) of Newburgh, IN; granddaughter, Isabelle; sister, Kathy (Weiberg) Ellenstein; and numerous other relatives and friends that are far too numerous to list, but were so very special to Fred.

Frances Ann (Martin) Wannemuehler, 88, of Evansville, Indiana, passed away on Monday, December 17, 2018 at Deaconess Gateway Hospital.

Frances was born in Evansville, Indiana on October 29, 1930 to the late Frederick and Veronica (Marx) Martin. She was a Memorial High School graduate. Frances worked at Citizens Bank, Sears and Conards. She was a member of Good Shepherd Catholic Church. Frances enjoyed sewing and playing Bridge. Frances and her husband Mel could always be found at one of their children’s or grandchildren’s sporting events. Everyone who knew Frances appreciated her sense of humor and it was passed down to her children and grandchildren.

Frances is survived by her sons, Michael Wannemuehler (Yvonne) of Ames, IA, Stephen Wannemuehler (Kathy) of Newburgh, IN, Scott Wannemuehler of Evansville, IN, Brian Wannemuehler (Diane) of Evansville, IN, and Jon Wannemuehler of Evansville, IN; brothers, Norman Martin (Marie) of Champaign, IL and Raymond Martin (Lori) of Plymouth, IN; daughter-in-law, Jo Ann Wannemuehler of St. Charles, MO; sister-in-law, Mary Martin; grandchildren, Michelle Hermann (C.J.), Ashley Gibson (Josh), Jessica Wright (Brannon), Amy, Lindsey Berkesch (George), Bradley (Elizabeth), Travis, Matthew, Shelby and Sam Wannemuehler; step-grandchildren, Krista Spaetti and Katie Carter; great-grandchildren, Joshua, Anna Marie and Joey Gibson and Mara Herrmann; and by many nieces and nephews.

Frances was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Melvin Joseph Wannemuehler in 2014; son, Kevin Wannemuehler in 2015; her parents; sisters, Mary Freihaut (John) and Virginia Mayhan (Al); and brother, Frederick Martin, Jr.

Irma Jean (Mehling) Gogel, 77 of Dale, went to be with our Savior on Sunday, December 16th at her home and is now with her son, Philip and her parents. She bravely battled ovarian cancer for two years.

Irma was born January 10, 1941 in Ferdinand to Alois & Leona (Braunecker) Mehling. She was united in marriage on September 29, 1962 to Eugene “John” Gogel in St. Ferdinand Catholic Church. John & Irma were married for 56 years.

Irma was a very faithful servant to our Lord her entire life and prided herself on her impeccable cleanliness, housekeeping for many local residences in addition to the bank and post office in Dale. Irma was from a family of twins, her father was a twin, she was a twin, and had two twin daughters. She was so very proud of her children, grandchildren and great-grandson. She enjoyed watching IU basketball.

Surviving are her husband, Eugene “John” Gogel, one son Steven (Mary Ann) Gogel of Birchwood, WI. Daughters, Sandra Rasche and Glenda (Brad) Edge both of Evansville, Brenda (Bruce) Ramsey of Kentucky, and Jennifer (Todd) McGehee of Boonville. Nine grandchildren, Benjamin Edge, Emily (Ty) Riffert, Korynne, Kamille, and Klaire Rasche all of Evansville, Lauren Edge of Portland, OR., Bryce Ramsey of Kentucky, and Ryan and Nathan McGehee of Boonville. Two great-grandchildren, Trenton Riffert and soon to be sister of Evansville. Three sisters, her identical twin Norma Roos of Dale, Valeria “Bootsie” Schwoeppe of St. Henry, Sue (Terry) Weyer of Troy. Three brothers, Mike (Linda) Mehling of Ireland, Stan and Ken Mehling both of Ferdinand. Irma was preceded in death by her parents, a son Philip Gogel in 1992, a god-daughter Paula (Lubbehusen) Fulks and a brother, Leander Mehling.

Thomas Lee Blair, 75, passed away on November 20, 2018 at his residence.

Tom graduated North High School in 1961. He married Laura Ruth Johnston, December 24, 1967. Thomas worked at Peabody Coal Mine from 1968-1999, Lucent Polymers from 2000 – 2015 where he retired and decided to work part time at Cardinal 60 hrs. a week. He was a Warrick County Reserve Deputy for many years. He owned TGS Inc. from 1985 to 1999 with his wife, where they open a bait shop & processed deer. He was a member of North Friendship Baptist Church, joined a small group men of missions, where he was very active giving back to the community. He walked the Evansville District Walk to Emmaus #72 where he found himself helping others find their own way.

​David B. Knight, 63, of Evansville, Indiana, passed away Friday, November 16, 2018, at his home. He was born on December 11, 1954, in Evansville, IN, to Agnes Mae (Ashby) and Bill T. Knight, Sr. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister Karen.

David was a retired pipefitter and worked through Local #136. He loved spending time with his family, especially his grandkids. In his retirement, his hobbies included playing golf, pool and cards. He was a jack of all trades and his true passion was helping others. His last act of service is donating his body to students at IU Medical Center.

David is survived by his wife of 34 years, Martha Knight; daughters, Sally Johnson (Duron), Kristi Givens (Justin) and Sara Hayden (Kyle); grandchildren, Kayla, Jalen, Kaylee, Harper, Tyler, Hazel, Alex and Anna; brothers and sisters, Bill Knight, Jr. (Vicki), Jenny Blythe, Mark Knight (Debi) and Marcia Ellerbrook (Paul); and many nieces and nephews.

​Gene L. Baumgart 73 of Mt. Vernon, passed away Sunday morning October 21, 2018 at his home. He was born July 15, 1945 in Evansville, the son of Edward L. and Helen (Durchholz) Baumgart. He married Katherine M. Schnapf on January 16, 1971 at St. John The Baptist Church in Newburgh. She preceded him in death on August 22, 1997.

Gene retired from G.E. and Sabic. After his retirement he enjoyed helping his brothers on the family farm. Gene enjoyed volunteer work, he helped with the Food Bank, Mesker Zoo, Cleaning St. Matthews Church and the Men’s Club. He served in the National Guard and was a member of St. Matthews Catholic Church.

He is survived by his children, William (Gretchen) Baumgart and Theresa (Tony) Adams all of Mt. Vernon; his grandchildren, Savannah and Gabe Adams and Magdalena Baumgart; great-grandson, Connor Garrett; brothers, Robert (Janet) Baumgart of New Haven and Ed (Doris) Baumgart of Mt. Vernon; sisters, Lorrie Maxen of Port St. Lucie, FL and Sherry (Rick) Dile of Evansville. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

​Kent Clark, 53, of Henderson passed away October 24, 2018 at Methodist Hospital. He was born on July 18, 1965 in Union County Kentucky to William and Kathryn (Morrow) Clark.

Kent was preceded in death by his father Billy Clark in 2015.

He is survived by his wife Donna Clark; his mother Katie Clark of Marion, KY, formerly of Henderson; one son Mason Clark; two sisters Laura Gish (Matt) of Niagara, KY and Holly Roberts (Dale) of Calvert City, KY; nephews Seth Gish and Ethan Gish; nieces Katie Roberts and Kelli Roberts; Aunts, Uncles and cousins.

Lawrence Edward Kelle, 71, of Evansville, passed away Thursday, October 11, 2018 at the Linda E. White Hospice House surrounded by his family.

Ed was born November 3, 1946 in Evansville, the seventh child born to the late Thomas and Sophie (Ramsey) Kelle. He was a 1964 graduate of Mater Dei High School. Ed was a veteran of the United States Army and a proud member of Company D 151 Airborne Rangers, serving in Vietnam. He enjoyed attending their reunions and spending time with his Army brothers. Ed also enjoyed camping, woodworking, taking care of his back yard birds and attending his grandchildren’s sporting events. Most of all though, Ed enjoyed spending time with his family. The 4th of July pool party won’t be the same without him. The kid in him really came out when it was time to shoot off fireworks. And of course, we will miss those great steaks he grilled at Christmas. Ed retired from Volvo Construction Equipment where he worked as a product support representative.

Surviving Ed are his wife of 39 years, Lorraine Kelle; his children, Jill (Steve) Brooks, Craig (Katie) Kelle and Mandy Kelle; grandchildren, Jessica Decker, Kayla Knapp, Alexis, Ethan and Nikki Kelle and Dokken and Mercedes Brooks and great grandchildren, Dylan Mayse and Shelby Rainwater. Also surviving are his brother, Jerry (Barbara) Kelle, sisters, Patricia Rexing and Thelma Mitchell; numerous nieces and nephews.  In addition to his parents, Ed was preceded in death by two sisters, Kate Ziliak and Josie Wentzel and by a brother, Mike Kelle.

Colleen (Knepper) Sears, 68, of Newburgh, Indiana, passed away Thursday, October 11, 2018 at her home surrounded by family.

Colleen was born in Evansville, Indiana on April 10, 1950 to the late Charles and Dorothy M. (Mattingly) Knepper. She graduated from Memorial High School in 1968 and attended University of Southern Indiana. Colleen loved her work as a Property Manager at Meadowood Apartments. She enjoyed traveling, shopping, flea markets and antique shops.

Colleen is survived by her husband of 28 years, David Sears of Newburgh, IN; son, Jeffrey Sears of Newburgh, IN; step sons, Kevin Sears of Evansville, IN, Darren Sears (Vanessa) of Sandy Springs GA; step daughter, Beth Ann Sears (Danny) of Boonville, IN; sisters, Lisa Farmer (Tony) of Evansville, IN, Patricia Widner (Bob) of Brownsburg, IN, Mary Knepper (Pat Dean) of Evansville, IN; brother, Dr. C. Michael Knepper (Lisa) of Terre Haute, IN; step grandchildren, Katelyn, Allison and Maverick; and several nieces and nephews.  Colleen was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Gregory Knepper; and a niece, Ashley Widner.

​63-year-old Rick Lane Miller, died on October 6 at his home. Rick was born January 20, 1955 at Vickers Hospital in McLeansboro, Illinois to Charles Edward and Ava LaVerne (Ingram) Miller. He married Teresa Kay McFarland, March 11, 1989.

A native of McLeansboro, Rick attended SIU at Carbondale, graduating with a degree in Plant and Soil Science in 1974, and Masters of Social Work in 1994. Rick was employed by Wabash & Ohio Valley Special Education District as a Social Worker.

Rick is survived by his wife of 29 years, Teresa, and sons Zachary, Logan, Brandon, and daughter, Whitney Miller and her husband Jordan Williams, his mother Ava LaVerne Miller of McLeansboro, two sisters Rhonda and husband Randy Carney of Thompsonville, and Rene’ and husband Gilroy Bernard of Belle Rive, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Rick was preceded in death by his father Charles Miller, paternal grandparents Dora and John Miller, and maternal grandparents Harlen and Ava Ingram.

Rick enjoyed playing the bass and acoustic guitar and played for many people throughout his lifetime. He was a skilled craftsman and self-taught amateur engineer who put his talent toward building his family home and many other projects, including a couple of community churches. He loved his family and enjoyed spending time with them on road trips, trying new restaurants, or just at home on the couch for a TV marathon. His bachelor’s degree and creativity were used by designing landscape plans for many individuals in the community. Most people describe Rick as a very pleasant, easy going, optimistic person with a constant smile.

Louise (Kiely) Owen, 88, of Evansville, Indiana, passed away on Friday, September 7, 2018 at Walnut Creek Alzheimer’s Center. Louise was born in Evansville, Indiana on September 8, 1929 to the late Loren and Leta (Phillips) Kiely. Louise graduated in 1947 from Central High School and in 1951 from University of Evansville. Louise taught physical education at Reitz High School and coached women’s tennis, basketball and track. In 1981, her Reitz girl’s basketball team came home with the state championship. Louise was a pioneer in women’s sports and a legendary tennis player. Louise was a 50 plus year member of Trinity United Methodist Church. As a champion in so many ways, Louise’s love of family is where her trophies are displayed.

Louise is survived by her son, Michael A. Owen (Susan) of Evansville, IN; daughters, Martha Harker (Greg) of Indianapolis, IN, Leanne Dennis (David) of Jamestown, NC and Susie Hoppe of Franklin, TN; sister, Mary Campbell of Indianapolis, IN; grandchildren, Andy Owen, Sarah Bigler, Chris Owen, Audra Shestak, David Harker, Mike Dennis, Joe Dennis, Sam Dennis, Owen Hoppe and Lila Hoppe; and by seven great-grandchildren.

Louise was preceded in death by her husband of 47 years, Arthur “Archie” Owen who passed in 1998.

Rebecca L. “Becky” Stansfield, 63, of Evansville, Indiana passed away Tuesday, September 18, 2018 at Linda E. White Hospice House in Evansville surrounded by the love of her family.  She was born November 1, 1954 in Peoria, Illinois the daughter of George A. and Zelma D. (Hunt) Bruce.  Becky married Kevin Stansfield on October 1, 1977 and together they enjoyed almost forty-one years of marriage. Becky’s parents brought her from Peoria, Illinois to Bellmont, Illinois in 1958 where she grew up and continued to live until moving to Evansville to be near her family.  She graduated from Mount Carmel High School in 1972.   Becky was employed for eighteen and a half years at Snap On Tools Corporation before taking on the pleasure of operating a daycare inside her home.  She welcomed many area children into her home daycare where she loved and nurtured them as if they were her own.  Becky was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend.  Her family meant the world to her and she greatly enjoyed the time she could spend with her grandchildren.  Becky attended Christian Fellowship Church in Evansville, Indiana.  She will be dearly missed by all who knew her.    Becky will be remembered by her husband, Kevin; sons, Jeremiah (Danielle) Stansfield and Josh Stansfield both of Evansville, Indiana; daughter Amy (William) Lansdale of Boonville, Indiana; grandsons, Parker and Lincoln Stansfield; sister, Barbara Bruce of Bellmont, Illinois; one aunt, Wilmina Seifferman and one uncle, Gary (Joann) Hunt.   Becky was preceded in death by her parents.

Betty Lou Keith, 78, returned to her Heavenly home June 27 at 4:22 PM after a valiant and courageous battle with cancer. Her devotion and firm belief in God supported her to the very end and ultimately gave her peace. Betty Lou was born June 6, 1940, to the late Harvey and Lona Spears. A Baptist Minister and a loving mother respectively, in Central City, KY. She was immersed in Christian values that would be her lifelong pledge from an early age. She was an acolyte to all that came into her life from day one.

Betty Lou was blessed with a large and loving family that she loved dearly. She raised 5 kids of her own and helped with many others. She taught them to be patient, disciplined, humble, and kind. Betty was an educator of the heart, she taught them to strive to always be “the best person they could be”. Always having the time to listen or solve a problem no matter how big or small.

She is preceded in death by her parents, and husband of 60 years, Carl Eugene, Sr.

Betty Lou is survived by her sons, Carl Eugene, Jr., Kenny Eugene (Debbie), Danny Ray (Denise), Timothy Alan (Jamie); her devoted and loving daughters, Rhonda Lynn (Jeff), Teresa Ann (Jeff); grandkids, Brian Nathaniel, Damien Joseph, Justin Ray, Madison Erin, Sydney Ann, Elizabeth Katherine, Allyson Lynn, Emma Clara, and Abbigail Grace; great grandkids, Kolton Alan, Cambrey Ray, Aubrey Sky, Eli James, and sweet Paisley Joe. She is also survived by her loving sisters, Dorris Rugs and Shirley Spears; her caring brothers, Randall and Billy Spears. Betty Lou is and will be missed by all her loved ones, who are now celebrating that she is rejoicing with her past loved ones and deservingly dwelling forever in the Kingdom of her creator Jesus Christ.

Donald Ray Oakley 80 of Newburgh, IN passed away Thursday, September 6, 2018. He was born in Evansville, IN on August 4, 1938. He loved flowers and the garden. Donald enjoyed listening to the Grand Old Opry each and every Friday and Saturday night. He was a very introverted man, who enjoyed life with his family and especially, his grandkids. He was always appreciative and never wanted more in life than what he had. In his 80 years he said he learned: Be honest, be nice to people, work hard, never intentionally harm anyone, take it easy and enjoy life. Stay calm and let situations and people work through things. Donald attended St. Mathews and Terrence Park Baptist where he was baptized. He worked construction with his father and at the First Avenue Trim Shop with his father in law. Donald retired from the Evansville Fire Department. During his 27 year career as a firefighter he was a lieutenant and a captain.

Donald was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Glenda Kormelick and two nephews.

He was survived by his wife of 60 years Sandra (Steele); daughter, Kim Ferguson, Angela Oakley-Word; son, Brett Oakley; sister, Jewell Forcum; brother, Terry Oakley; grandchildren, Shawn, Brittany McHugh, Jacob, Blaize, Caleb, Ellie Schmitt, Alexandra Oakley Kingston, Alizabeth, Hunter Oakley; 15 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Daniel Lee Rexing, 59, of Evansville, Indiana, passed away on Wednesday, September 12, 2018 at Deaconess Midtown Hospital.

Daniel was born in Evansville, Indiana on June 22, 1959. He graduated from Central High School in 1977 and worked at Faultless Casters for 25 years. He went on to work at Toyota in Body Weld for 15 years. He enjoyed woodworking, gardening and hunting. Daniel had a servants heart and enjoyed fixing things for others whenever needed. His greatest joy came from spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.

Daniel is survived by his wife of 38 years, Kelley (Rasure) Rexing; his daughters, Amy Deutsch (Nicholas) and Laura Newmaster (Jacob); his sons, Brian Rexing (Cory) all of Evansville, IN, and Keith Rexing (Caitlin) of Indianapolis, IN; his father, Charles Anthony Rexing (Margaret) of Evansville, IN; sister, Mary Gayle Carey (Owen) of Ohio; grandchildren, Kylie, Bryce, Levi; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Judi and Duke Rasure; and by many nieces, nephews, and other extended family.

Daniel was preceded in death by his mother, Marlene (Toon) Rexing; and by his grandparents, Mary and William Toon, Florence and Joe Rexing, and Mary and James Barnett.

Rondal “Mitch” Legate, 75, of Evansville, passed away Tuesday, August 14, 2018. Mitch was born in Muhlenberg County, KY to the late Everett and Pearl Legate. He was a veteran of the US Army and a METS bus driver for 30 years. Mitch is survived by his wife of 54 years, Anita (Lacefield) Legate, 2 sons, Scott (Geri) and Chris (Brenda) Legate, along with 5 grandchildren.

​Tyna (McClure) Wheat, age 57, of Evansville, IN, passed away at 11:04 p.m. on Friday, September 7, 2018, at Deaconess Hospital.

Tyna was born January 25, 1961, in Henderson, KY to the late Robert “RK” and Dorothy (Bellew) McClure. She graduated from Henderson High School in 1979 and earned her Bachelor’s Degree from University of Kentucky. Tyna was the co-owner of The Diamond Galleria since 2013 and held a deep passion for her work in the jewelry industry. Outside of her work, she enjoyed spending time with her family.

She is survived by her beloved husband of 30 years, Bertram “Bert” M. Wheat; son, Nathan Robert Wheat of Arlington, VA; goddaughter, Samanatha DePalma; close family, Angela and Rob DePalma; and many friends.

Tyna was a great friend and supporter of Chemo Buddies, and partnered with us to create the Hope Jewelry Collection.

​Ronald “Ron” Korba, 73, of Evansville, passed away August 26, 2018. He was born in Brooklyn, NY, on March 31, 1945, to the late Julius and Lillian Korba.

Ron retired as a purchasing manager for Therapy Associates and Vantage Oncology where he had worked for many years. He was a Vietnam Veteran in the US Army and a member of American Legion Funkhouser Post and Disabled American Veterans. Ron loved spending time with his family and was an avid golfer.

He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Eileen Korba; daughter, Rebecca Korba; son, Jeremy Korba (Jennifer); granddaughters, Julianna, Alyssa, and Gabrielle Korba; brother, Dr. Alvin Korba (Jan); sister, Michele Yarnell; and nieces and nephews.

​Beverly A. “Bev” (Hart) Barnes, age 68, of Evansville, IN, passed away at 11:20 p.m. on August 21, 2018, at home.

Bev was born September 4, 1949, in Walnut Ridge, AR, to the late Hylas D. and Vida I. (Lacey) Hart. She graduated from Central High School in 1967. Bev was a member of Crossroads Christian Church where she was actively involved in the children’s church group and the cancer support group. She worked at Permanent Federal, Old National Bank, First Federal Savings Bank, and South Western Indiana Land Title. She was a Cub Scout Den Leader and a member of the Evansville Otters Booster Club. Bev especially loved knitting, crocheting, and NASCAR.

She is survived by her beloved husband of 49 years, Francis R. “Buster” Barnes, III; son, Adam Barnes of Evansville; sisters, Sandra Wilson of Gallatin, TN and Judy Parsons (William) of Washington, IN; and many nieces and nephews.

​Nancy Jean Osborn, 72, of Evansville passed away July 30, 2018.  She was born on October 19, 1945 to the late Robert and Jean Benjamin. Nancy loved crafts, and working in the yard. She was a member of Vann Avenue Baptist Church. Nancy worked as an inspector for 28 years at Windsor Plastics. She loved spending time with her family, was incredibly selfless and never met a stranger. Nancy had a heart of gold.

She is preceded in death by her parents; her children’s father, R. “Steve” Cowe; and her sister, Judith Martin.

Nancy is survived by her husband of almost 34 years, Dwight “Animal” Osborn; daughter, Tina Harlow (Gregory); son, Richard “Rick” Cowe; granddaughters, Charish Draper, Danielle Harlow (Fiance’ Chuck Capshaw), Erin Harlow; one great granddaughter, Maybre Kennedy; her beloved dog, Matilda; niece, Teresa Gunn and family; nephew, Rob and Amanda Martin and family; several aunts, uncles, and cousins; step mother-in-law, Barbara A. ​Eric E. Hostettler, 67, of Poseyville, IN passed away Wednesday, July 25, 2018 at the Linda E. White Hospice House.

Eric was born July 11, 1951 in Evansville to the late Earl and Esther (Hollingsworth) Hostettler. He served in the United States Navy for eight years and retired from Duke Energy. Eric loved a good cup of coffee, old cars, hunting, his dogs, Chief, Gus and Sara and his cats, Parsnip, Two Kettle and Cleo.

Eric is survived by his wife of 33 years, Susan (Hamman) Hostettler; two daughters, Becky Hostettler of Indianapolis and Cathi (Greg) East of Poseyville; sisters, Karen (Bob) Hammonds, Rachel Villines and Erin (Jeff) Knight, all of Evansville; brothers, Tom (Carla) Hostettler of Elberfeld, Roger (Bonnie) Hostettler of London, KY, Dan (Lynda) Hostettler of Mt. Vernon, John (Beth) Hostettler of Wadesville, Ethan (Rick) Hostettler of Owensboro, KY and Roy (Stephanie) Hostettler of Evansville and a grandson, Tim East.

In addition to his parents, Eric was preceded in death by a grandson, Tyler East and by a brother-in-law, Bruce Villines.

Dale W. Bates, 75, of Mt. Carmel, IL passed away Friday, June 8, 2018. He was born June 27, 1942 in Wabash County Illinois the son of Clyde and Dorothy (Stevens) Bates. He married Linda Walker on August 10, 1968.

Dale greatly enjoyed his lifelong career as a farmer. The highlight of each year was a family vacation with his granddaughters. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him. Dale will be remembered by his loving wife, Linda; daughter, Elizabeth (Clay) Bethard; granddaughters, Addison, Morgan and Reagan Bethard; brother, Gene (Nicki) Bates and sister-in-law, Phyllis Bates. Dale was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Carl and Paul.

​Madeline Brooks was born on January 21, 1940 in Madisonville, KY. Madeline passed away on June 30, 2018 while at Solarbron Rehabilitation Center.

Madeline is survived by her husband; Howard Brooks, three daughters, Karen Brooks, Karol Malone and Kerri Simpsons, son John Nelson, four sisters Wila Hatchett, Esther Weems, Mae Dean, and Beverly Clark and one brother Jerry Clark.

Judith “Judi” Renee Callahan, 59, of Newburgh, IN passed away Monday, June 25, 2018 at Deaconess Gateway Hospital. She was born in St. Louis, MO on September 7, 1958 to the late Walter and Charlotte Eckert.

She loved her family and they were most important to her. Judi worked many years in the retail furniture business making many friends. She was very creative, loved decorating, and playing online games with people all over the world. She was an animal lover with five cats, Ely was her favorite. Judi was a very kind and compassionate person with a soft heart, always putting her family first. She had a great sense of humor and enjoyed watching sports, especially the St. Louis Cardinals.

Judi was preceded in death by her parents; son, Sean Callahan; and four cousins. She is survived by her husband of 37 years, Patrick; sons, Neil Callahan (Shannon), Devin Callahan; daughter Paige Callahan; grandchildren, Jack, Reilly, Mia Callahan; brother, Glenn Eckert (Pat); niece, Shannon Bender (Matt); nephew, Tyson Eckert (Jaclyn); and 19 cousins.

​JoAnna “Jo” Wentzel-Bowley, 43, of Evansville, IN, left this world Tuesday, June 19th, 2018 to be with her parents and The Lord in Heaven. She was born to the late Josie (Kelle) and Allen Wentzel.

JoAnna has a degree from Vincennes University in Criminal Justice and a degree from Daymar College and was a Certified Medical Assistant. She was employed by the Vanderburgh County Sheriff’s Department for 16 years as a Sergeant Confinement Officer. She also worked at Eyecare Associates of Kentucky as an optical technician. During her cancer fight, she was employed at Drone’s Convenience Store in Evansville. JoAnna was a member of The Refuge Christian Church. She was also a lifelong Cubs fan. She enjoyed traveling, fishing, gardening, and spending time at her Lake Barkley cabin with family and friends.

JoAnna is survived by her husband, Jeff Bowley of Evansville; Brothers, Charlie (Dee) Wentzel of Schaumburg, IL, Tom (Kanita) Wentzel of Boonville, IN and Kenny (Darlene) Wentzel of Evansville, IN; several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews; her beloved puppy kids, Jet and JJ; and her “tricycle wheel” friend Amy Hart.

Thurman R. “TR” Hook, 70, passed on Feb. 14, 2018.  Survived by wife, Sally; sons, Brady Hook, Mike Mosley and Zachary Turner; daughter, Courtney Garcia and Hayley Turner; grandchildren, Aden Hook, Tara and Seth Mosley; sisters, Cynthia Lee and Carole Hook.

​Lana Rust McFarron, age 76, of Henderson, KY, passed away Wednesday, May 16, 2018, at the Heart Hospital at Deaconess Gateway in Newburgh, IN.

Lana was born February 18, 1942, to Bob and Modest Rust. She worked at Wilkerson’s Shoes for 35 years. She was a member of Geneva Baptist Church for 60 years. Lana was a Kentucky Colonel, an avid reader, and a UK Basketball fan. She loved attending the weekly dances at the Gathering Place.

Lana was preceded in death by her parents, Bob and Modest Rust, husband, Arnold McFarron, sister, Patsy Higginson, and a brother Steve Rust. Survivors include her life partner, Donald Bullock of Henderson, KY, 2 daughters, Diana McFarron of Raleigh, NC and Rae McFarron of Roswell, GA.

​Janet (Hartweck) Payne, 79 of Evansville passed away Tuesday, May 8, 2018 at St. Vincent Hospital.  She was born January 28, 1939 in Evansville, IN to the late Herman J. and Esther (Berg) Hartweck. She graduated from Mater Dei High School and formerly worked in food service management before retiring from Cintas. Janet loved North High School and UK basketball, boating and river life, and spending time with her family.

Janet was preceded in death by her parents, Herman J. and Ester Hartweck; grandson, Tanner Vaught; and brother, Allen Hartweck.

She is survived by her life partner, Robert E. West, and son, Robert D. West; sons, Steven Payne (Karen), Scott Payne and Tim Payne (Misty); daughters, Tammy Vaught, Angela Payne and Julie Payne; 17 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; brothers, Tom Hartweck and Herman Hartweck, Jr. (Judy); and several nieces and nephews.

Virgil “Gene” Cron, 72, of Boonville, Indiana passed away peacefully on Wednesday, May 2, 2018 at his home in Boonville, surrounded by his loved ones. He was born in Boonville to Jaunita and Charles Cron, who both preceded him in death.

He attended school in Tennyson and graduated from Boonville High School in 1963. He worked at Baum’s Grocery Store and was part owner of Valley Auto Sales before owning and operating G & G Auto Salvage and Used Cars until his retirement in 2016. He loved fast cars, Chevy trucks, Sunday breakfasts with friends and drag racing with his family and friends. He especially loved spending time with his granddaughter, Presley. She was a constant source of entertainment, pride, and joy for him. He could be found drag racing in the Tri-State Area most weekends over the past twenty plus years and would always lend you gas, an air tank, a tool, or a hand if you needed it.

He is survived by his loving wife of almost 45 years, Marlene, daughters Jaclyn (Dale) Eubanks of Bargersville, Indiana and Karen Cron, soon to be son in law Kyle Krepistman of Long Beach, California, grandchildren Presley and Tanner Eubanks, brother Jerry Cron, sister in-law Myrna (Tad) Rose, numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives, including Tim (Bridget) Cron, Kelly (Terry) Floyd, Logan Cron and Miranda Floyd, who he was like a second father/grandfather to. He was a great man who helped and was loved by many. He was the best of all of us. His generous and kind spirit were a blessing to this world and everyone who knew him was better for it. He will be greatly missed.

​Mary Jane “Janie” (Seib) Lamey, 61, of Haubstadt, passed away Sunday, April 8, 2018 at her home surrounded by family. Janie was a loving wife, mother and grandma. She loved to sew and listen to music, was a great cook and had a contagious laugh. She had worked as the kitchen manager for the South Gibson School Corporation at Haubstadt Community School and was a member of St. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Haubstadt.

Surviving Janie are her husband of 28 years, Terry Lamey; daughters, Lori Weintraut, Abby (Brad) Schmitt and Julie (Clint) Fuhs; sons, Aaron (Stephanie) Spindler and Matthew (Katie) Lamey; her father, Joseph Seib; sisters, Ruth Schneider, JoAnn (Terry) Maurer, Bernie (George) Caucci and Nora (Steve) Elpers; brothers, Gene (Pat) Seib, George (Jeannie) Seib and Paul (Mary Jo) Seib; grandchildren, Lilly, Landon, Lawson and Lincoln Schmitt, Luke Weintraut, Emma, Nolan and Tyler Fuhs and Blake, Justin and Nathan Spindler and fifteen nieces and nephews.  Janie was preceded in death by her first husband, Gilbert Spindler, by her mother, Margaret “Margie” (Bittner) Seib; by brothers, Raymond and Robert Seib and by a brother-in-law, John Schneider.

Susan B. (Abshier) Gretler, 60, passed away Saturday, March 31, 2018, at Heritage Hospice Center. She was born February 21, 1958 in Evansville to Carlann (Schimmell) Abshier and the late Eugene Abshier.

Susan volunteered and worked for 23 years at Resurrection Catholic School in various positions. She was a member of Resurrection Catholic Church. Susan was a loving wife, mother, daughter, sister, and nana and was devoted to her family. She was an avid sports fan and enjoyed camping, baking, and cooking.

She is survived by her husband, Daniel Gretler of 37 years, sons, Brandon (Misti) Gretler and Jason (Katie) Gretler; grandchildren Allie Holland, Noah Baggett, Nolan and Kinley Gretler; mother, Carlann Abshier; brothers, Danny (Kathy) Abshier and Craig (Leslie) Abshier; sister, Judy (Tim Taylor) Land; nieces and nephews.  Susan was preceded in death by her father, Eugene Abshier.

Rose Sharon (Owen) Gulledge, 80, of Evansville, Indiana, passed away on Wednesday, March 7, 2018 at Linda E. White Hospice House. Sharon was born in Evansville, Indiana on July 13, 1937 to the late Charles Raymond and Myrtle (Witty) Owen. She was a 1955 graduate of Elberfeld High School and retired as a bookkeeper from Smith & Butterfield in 1999 after 30 years of service. She enjoyed knitting, bus trips, playing cards, trips to Hawaii and Europe and the many visits to Florida. Sharon loved her friends and the fellowship she had with them at TOPS Club. She will be deeply missed by her family and friends.

Sharon was preceded in death by her parents; and sisters, Thelma Mayberry, Ruby Whitledge, and Aretta Lovell.

Joyce Lynn Lawrence, 60, of Evansville, passed away Friday, March 2, 2018 after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born August 23, 1957 in Brazil, IN to James and Doris (James) Johnson. She graduated from Brazil High School with the class of 1975. On Christmas Eve, 1976, she was united in marriage to Donald Steven Lawrence. Joyce had a successful real estate career for over 20 years with FC Tucker Realty. She loved traveling with family, being with her grandchildren and holidays, especially Christmas. Joyce was preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her husband, Donald Lawrence; children, Ryan Lawrence and Brandy Greco (Julian); grandchildren, Brahm, Lola, and Rhett Greco, and brother, Gary Johnson (Patti).

​Larry Wilke, 71, of Evansville, IN, passed away February 18, 2018. He was born August 9, 1946, in Evansville, IN, to the late Merrill and Doris Wilke. Larry graduated in 1964 after attending both Old Central High School and North High School. He is a Vietnam Veteran who served two tours as a Navy Seal. Larry worked at Whirlpool for 41 years. He was an American Legion Member, artist, and enjoyed woodworking.

He is preceded in death by his brothers, Wendell Wilke, Wayne Wilke, and Stephen Malzahn.  Larry is survived by his wife of 41 years, Carla Wilke; son, Christopher Wilke (Amy); daughter, Laurie Wilke; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Karalyn Kay Lackey, 69, passed away peacefully on February 14, 2018 in Newburgh, IN. She was born the daughter of Kenneth and Margaret Jackson in Evansville, IN on February 21, 1948.  Karalyn was a kind and generous soul that will be missed by so many.

She is survived by her devoted husband of 44 years Larry; beloved daughter Natascha Moore; and cherished grandchildren Cameron and Brandon Moore.

Arthur W. Osborne, 54, of Evansville, passed away Tuesday, February 6, 2018 at his home. He was born October 16, 1963 in Evansville.  Art was employed with Felt’s Lock for over 30 years. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends, especially coaching his daughters’ sports teams. He was a member of Tri-State Hunting and Retrieving Club, where he enjoyed training his beloved dog, Mousse.  He was preceded in death by his mother, Mary Lamberson, and brother, Steven Lamberson.  Art is survived by his wife, Tammy (Knarian) Osborne; daughters, Kassie and Katie Osborne; brothers, Rick Bowlin (Debi) and Lester Lamberson (Soon Hee); nieces and nephews, and family friend, Robert Franz.

Sherry Lee (Pfeiffer) Schnepper, 70, of Evansville, Indiana, passed away in her home surrounded by her family on Wednesday, January 31, 2018. She fought a courageous and inspiring battle with cancer for over 17 years.

Sherry was born in Evansville, Indiana on July 15, 1947 to the late Juanita (Crane) and Oscar Pfeiffer. She graduated from Harrison High School in 1965 and went on to retire from State Farm Insurance Claims after over 20 years of service. She enjoyed shopping, flowers, animals, sprint car racing, and being at the family home in Florida. Sherry loved spending time with her family and friends, especially her grandchildren.

Sherry is survived by her husband of 51 years, Victor Schnepper; children, Keith Schnepper, Kristie Chinn (David), and Kurt Schnepper, all of Evansville, IN; grandchildren, Jeremy Schnepper, Jeffrey Schnepper, Cooper Chinn, Anna Chinn, and Jake Schnepper; brother, Rick Pfeiffer (Andrea); mother-in-law, Mary Anne Schnepper; uncle, Robert Pfeiffer (Doris); brother-in-law, Mark Schnepper; and by many nieces and cousins.

Sherry was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Donnie Chamberlin; and by her father-in-law, Leland Schnepper.

Sandy Kaye Allee Sights, age 56, of Henderson, KY, passed away at 9:55 AM, Sunday, January 21, 2018, at Owensboro Regional Health Hospital.

Sandy was the life of the party. She was always willing to help anyone in need and was so very grateful for the help she received as well. She was small but mighty, like dynamite. Sandy loved U.K. basketball and enjoyed spending time outdoors. She had a green thumb and loved working with her plants. She loved to go shopping. She was a straight shooter and always told the truth even if it was difficult to hear. Sandy loved her family, and her grandchildren were her passion.

Judith Kaye McLemore Byers, oldest daughter of Chester Dwight and Kathryn Bates McLemore went home to the Lord on January 20, 2018. Judy was a member of Main Street General Baptist Church for all of her life, starting at the cradle row and ending as a faithful servant. She worked as a Sunday School teacher, Bible School helper, Small Group leader and helped with the Student Youth Group throughout her life in the church. Judy graduated from Boonville High School in 1960 where she was involved with Sub-Deb, a Football Homecoming Queen Candidate her senior year, and the school play Time Out for Ginger (Judy played the part of Ginger). Judy belonged to Rainbow Girls and was The Worthy Advisor in 1960 where she also received the Grand Cross of Colors. Judy married Paul “Danny” Byers on October 13 (Friday the 13th), 1961 and remained married for 43 years until Danny’s death on September 19, 2005. Judy was a member of The Chrisney Order of the Eastern Star Chapter 357. Judy was a member of Tri-Kappa until she took a demit to open The Flower Shop of Boonville Inc., her true working passion. Judy owned and operated The Flower Shop of Boonville from 1983 until 2001 where she sold the business. Most of her regular customers remember Chelsea, the Yorkie Poodle dog, who spent every day at the shop with Judy. After selling The Flower Shop, Judy enjoyed a part time retirement and helping at Koehler’s Funeral Home as a Greeter. Judy and Danny loved taking vacations with their family to Gatlinburg and Florida.

Judy is survived by her two daughters, Paula and Bret Kramer, and Pamela and Lorenz Wilkinson. Sisters, Carolyn (Ralph) Downing, Dewight Baker, Barbara Jane (Randy) Dempsey and Brother, Dennis (Kim) McLemore. 5 Grandchildren, Matt (Dria) Snodgrass, Allison (Josh) Woolen, Cindy (Larry) King, Katie and Ivan Wilkinson. 9 Great Grandchildren, Xander, Shelby and Charlie Snodgrass, Oliver and Evelyn Woolen, Morgan, Emily, Zane and William King. Many nieces and nephews.

Judy is sad to leave behind her special dog Duffy, but excited to be reunited with Chelsea. Judy wishes to thank her many caregivers in the last days of her life: Kirstyn Dawson for driving her where she needed and being a good friend, Paula Kramer for her thorough nursing care, and the nurses at Kindred Hospice. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Judy’s Hospice team: LaDonna Johnson, Tara Raven, Lindsey Hafele, Darcy Puckett, Randy Bechtel, and Jennifer Zint. You helped to make Mom’s final journey the best it could be.

Thomas George Wirth, 71, passed away on January 13, 2018. Tom was born on December 31, 1946, in Princeton, Indiana. He grew up on his parent’s farm near Mt. Carmel, Illinois. Tom had many fond memories of growing up there with his parents and brothers. Tom attended Mt. Carmel High School where he graduated in 1965. He was an all around athlete in high school while earning 11 varsity letters in 4 sports. In his senior year in football, he received numerous honors including being selected to the All Conference Team, the All Area Team, and the All State First Team. He was also honored as the Southern Illinois Player of the Year. Tom was awarded a football scholarship at Southern Illinois University-Carbondale, where he played for four years and graduated with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Marketing.

He worked for the Indiana Family and Social Services Administration for 37 ½ years. Tom worked 5 years as a Caseworker in Vanderburgh County and 32 ½ years as a Hearings Officer / Administrative Law Judge with the Hearings and Appeals Division. In 2001, Tom was honored with an Exceptional Service Award by the Indiana FSSA for his efforts in developing and helping to implement computerized Hearing Decision Formats for his fellow workers.

Tom enjoyed traveling and exploring new places with his wife. He loved spending time with his family. He adored his two grandchildren and delighted in playing / being with them. Tom had many special memories of being with his friends. He was an avid photographer and enjoyed taking pictures of everything from wildlife / nature, family, to sporting events. He also enjoyed playing golf, especially with his buddies. He is preceded in death by his parents, Bernard and Pauline Wirth, of Mt. Carmel, Illinois; sister, Norma Jean; and brother, Jerry, of Olney, Illinois.

Tom is survived by his loving wife Jane, of 33 years; sons, Joe Gerard (Lisa Shade), of Crystal Lake, Illinois, Matt Gerard (Kelly), of Winters, California; two grandchildren, Paige and Isaac Gerard; three brothers, Paul Wirth (Carole), of Olney, Illinois, Jim Wirth (Shirley), of Hollister, Missouri, Lee Wirth (Donna), of Darien, Illinois; He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

​Kelly Lynn (Palmer) Minor, 55, of Evansville, IN, passed away Monday, January 8, 2018, at Deaconess Gateway Hospital in Newburgh. She was born in Evansville on February 3, 1962, to Kenneth and Janice Palmer. She graduated from Reitz High School in 1980 and attended ISUE. Kelly worked for the Evansville Water Department for 32 years. She enjoyed NASCAR and playing slot machines.

Kelly was preceded in death by her father; sister, Kristi Palmer; brother, Kenny Palmer; and mother and father-in-law, Kotzie and Kenny Minor. She is survived by her husband of 33 years, Wayne; daughter, Jessica; son, Jacob (Katie) grandsons, Hunter Scott and Bennett Minor; mother, Janice Palmer; brother, Darrell Palmer; brothers-in-law, Jeff Minor (Becky) and Steve Minor (Wendy); sisters-in-law, Kim Beavin (Dan) and Penny Palmer; aunts; uncles; nieces and nephews.
